Newly remodeled hotel, well located, with a few issues

There are a lot of advantages to this hotel. It is only a 2-3 minute walk from the train station (although “transfer” on their electric vehicle from the train station is included in the room price). The train station is “right in town,” which means all the shops and restaurants were also very, very close to the hotel. Additionally, the hotel was recently renovated; both the public spaces. (lobby, restaurants, bar, gym), are very stylish and current. We had a Junior Suite and requested a full view of the Matterhorn. Very happy with our room 641. Lovely balcony with view of Matterhorn. Minuses: whomever designed the remodel did not consult a “lighting” professional. The public spaces (stairwell to the elevators and the stairwells themselves), are very dimly lit. I’m 65 with 20-20 vision and it’s dark! Same with the room (we had a Junior Suite)…the lighting was inadequate. In order to “see clearly” in the living room and bedroom area you need to turn on the 1-floor lamp adjacent to the sofa. Also, the air conditioning controls are limited and they may need calibration. While there is a thermostat control in the room, the minimum temperature allowed is 20-degrees C (68-degrees F). We visited in May, and the room was warm at night. Apparently, this is a known problem for the staff, because when we mentioned it a check out, they acknowledge the problem. Breakfast was a buffet and lovely. You can order off the menu and select buffet items at your pleasure. Everything was included; and the staff was great, particularly Laura.

Schweizerhoff is very convenient for skiing. Gornergrat railway is 5 minutes walk and Sunnega and Matterhorn glacier express are a quick taxi ride away (I am not a fan of walking in ski boots!). Absolutely wonderful service. Great breakfast (thank you Laura) and restaurant. Ski lockers with boot heaters are a nice touch. Will stay again as soon as we can!

The location and quality of this hotel is superb!

We stayed for 5 days. Initially we looked for another place and got finally to this one which was the best we could do. The location is one step away from the three starting points.

Our family of four recently completed our third stay at this wonderful hotel, and once again, it exceeded all of our expectations. Returning here year after year has truly become a tradition for us, and each visit somehow feels even more special than the last. What sets this hotel apart is the incredible staff, who consistently go above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and stress-free. This year, in particular, we experienced unexpected travel disruptions due to a delayed flight, and the team handled the situation with genuine care and professionalism. We would especially like to recognize Zoe at the front desk. She went out of her way to assist us with adjusting our travel plans, ensuring everything was clearly communicated and organized. Her kindness and willingness to translate everything into Italian for us made a potentially stressful situation feel seamless and manageable. Her dedication truly made a lasting impression on our family. The hotel continues to provide a warm, welcoming environment that makes traveling with children easy and enjoyable. It’s rare to find a place that combines comfort, consistency, and such personalized service. We are already looking forward to returning again next year!

Amazing rooms - and a wonderful location! Great place to relax at the end of a long day! Especially with the spa & indoor pool.
